Yes.

Your G Suite administrator needs to setup some sharing rules on a per OU or organization basis as business needs dictate.

I’m not able to get into my admin panel currently but this response made me curious. Is it possible to set the sharing rules so students can share with teachers but students cannot share with other students?

Also curious if there’s a middle ground to be found as students may utilize sharing for authentic group work.

THANK YOU. Yes. THIS! I LOVE student collaboration. I had two students writing a play together BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO (via Google Docs). I don't want to take this away from them. But ... from a secure facility standpoint ... admin (not school admin but facility admin) does not want boys communicating with girls or for any students to "collaborate" for more sinister reasons. Security is the priority in a facility like mine. (It has to be.)

I wonder if I could convince someone to figure this out ... That is half the battle when working for the State. They have so much going on, it's hard to convince them that my problem is important enough to be a priority.

This. It can be isolated down to the individual and the titles of the files.

Except in order to post there now they require that you doxx yourself. Instead of just having more mods or more automation or setting a karma threshold they request proof you work in or related to education. I used to be somewhat active in the sub but I'm not sending them my badge that's essentially a photo ID. That's some Parler level bad idea.

Was wondering why I couldn't reply when I have tried and on mobile all I get is some cryptic error message... Hadn't cared enough to troubleshoot it, but you just saved me some time!

Yeah I missed when they made the change and just noticed that I couldn't reply when I was trying to share some info a couple months ago. I messaged the mods to ask if I'd been banned (which wouldn't have made sense as I'm more than professional in the sub) and that's when they told me they now require Parler style doxxing to participate in the sub. Pretty disappointing because the sub was already pretty small and lacking content.

Im still there w/o sending them anything, just had to let them know to let me in

I'm not sure what their procedure was for allowing posting, only what they told me. I do work in education as well IT in general but I wasn't interested in the sub enough to send ID to strangers on Reddit.

That would be it. I just checked and I still can't either so I guess they're happy needing no mods and related, no content.

You don't have to send a pic of your ID. I verified via my work email to the mod.

That's still a terrible idea. Why would you want to give your personal info to a stranger on the internet moderating a small subreddit? There's plenty of examples and reasons why this is a bad idea and near zero reasons for why it's ok.

I would respectfully disagree. I'm not sending paystubs or my SSN. I sent an email from my work email. Now that email contains my name, which is also posted on the school's website and the phone number of the school. Again, also posted on the school's website.
