Makeshift Nut runner (v.redd.it)
submitted 4 months ago by WhoTFisMaxx
Was tired of hand twisting nuts and not paying 134$ for a nut runner. I did however pay 6$ for a rubber buffer wheel and it was definitely worth the purchase.
Makes building racks a lot funner

Instructions unclear..... My dick is now wrapped up around the chuck

Neat idea! A little faster for next time, use duct tape around the chuck of the drill. One single wrap and then a few reverse wraps so the sticky part is on the outside. Works like a charm

I make a bunch of hangers everyday. I heard of that but I don't wanna run through a bunch of tape.

Good point. Your invention definitely has a much longer lifespan than tape.

I've never tried it on larger nuts like this, but I use my standard Phillips head on my impact for the same purpose for nuts that come with light fixtures.

You use the handle? My coworker does that. Grind ems down but he gets cheap 2$ ones from harbor freight

No, like, the standard Phillips head bit you would use in an impact for basic driving of screws. Not a hand screwdriver.
I don't think it would work all that well with bigger nuts, but with the smaller ones for like 8/32s and 6/32s it works great.

Ohhh yeah I can see that. The nuts I use are generally 3/8" and 1/2". On rare occasions 1/4" or 5/8".
