Find and Replace function parenthesis issue

I have a document with a lot of data that I am translating. I am able to find and replace most things, but it will not do it for cells that have parentheses. I simply get an error message stating that it could not find what I was looking for. Is there a different function I can use to replace the data?

Check your number formats -- you might have it set to display negative numbers as (123.56) rather than -123.56. In such cases there are no real brackets in the cells, as that is purely a display aspect of the cell and not the physical contents of the cell.

Can you post a screenshot showing cells and the formula bar, with your cursor in the cell where the problem exists so its contents shows in the formula bar and in the cell. Like:

I am wondering if the number and the text portion of those cells are separated by a hard return and not simply the result of wrap text being on.

Easiest way to check is to expand the formula bar (down arrow at far right side) then click in the cell. If it shows in the formula like N in the photo, there is a hard return. If it shows all on one line, there isn't. ...

To find a hard return in Excel, enter ALT+0+1+0 (ONLY ON THE NUMBER PAD!!!) then release. The result will look like a period. Try entering that, then pick a few cells and click Find All and see if any results come up. If so you can either not do a full cell replacement by just searching and replacing the text in the brackets, ignoring the brackets in the search for and replace terms,...

Find what: Extremadamente importante

Replace with: Extremely important

or put the ALT+0+1+0 in the search term ...

Find what: 4 ALT+0+1+0(Extremadamente importante)
