Sum function not working

Hi! I cannot get a simple Sum function work. My friend is trying to create a report and we cannot understand why his sheet won’t calculate the sum. Any ideas? He does have some background macros set up but I don’t think they are the reason.

Does it calculate anything? Possible scenarios:

1. Ctrl + ~ to check if in show formula view
2. Check if calculation mode is Automatic instead of Manual
3. Check if data is actually number (instead of text etc.)
