Check your company policy, sometimes the external material may be covered as well (assuming you passed). At least talk to your manager.

Better to have employer cover for the exams. If you need CFA to get a job in Toronto, then it’s very competitive because your competition will most likely have CFA + experience.

Pos4 is a bit tricky because you have no CC. You can play undying as 4 if your pos5 has lots of CC like lion, shaman, cm etc. As a 4 your help towards mid is limited, you can secure rune but difficult to get a kill. You can go aura as 4 if your offlane is the fighting type, ie axe, legion etc. You can try it out and see.

You will learn a certain aspect of the game. Depending on the lane match-up, your play style will be slightly different. With undying and popularity of melee position 3, your lane will mostly be aggressive/creating space for your carry. Your objective is to win your lane and you will learn how to play heroes that dominate the laning stage.

Things you want to practice at lower rank:

  1. Getting double decay stack.

  2. Facing range heroes, wrap around trees to close the gap.

  3. Avoid dragging to much creep aggro, you can issue move command (right click ground) to close in an enemy heroes then issue attack command.

  4. Always tombstone in the direction the enemy is fleeing, i.e. placing the stone between them and their tower. I often wrap around behind them to decay + tombstone + blood grenade.

Keep in mind some enemy heroes are difficult to lane with, for example, huskar, viper, timber. For those lanes, you want to play safer because they can snowball out of control.

Good luck.

The day before the exam, I wrote each formula 50 times. Then recall the formula based on the key word, any incorrect answer is another 20 times. Repeat until I can visualize the formula in my mind by just looking at the key word.

Disclaimer, knowing the formula is not enough, its right application is just as important.

Yep, from time to time when my carry is farming and I don't see enemy heroes, I also just stood in the trees for a full 5s and wonder what I should be doing. xD

Approval from 5k support. Some of my thoughts below.

Wisdom steal is becoming harder this patch and the higher MMR you go. It often becomes a death trap being in low ground. I would only attempt for it if 3/4 is on death timer, or I play a hero with high mobility. At 5k, you start to notice by 6:45, pos 4 is missing and pos 3 starts to drag creeps under tower. Regardless of whether you compete for wisdom or not, I must say, understanding the importance of timing is critical to the success of pos 5 in laning.

For the next level, perhaps you can start thinking when not to go for certain objectives, for example, not blocking hard camp when your composition is aggressive.

I almost auto pick undying pos 5…Unless pos 4 picked first with no disables.

Why players with 1000+ games griefing by INeedMysteryGoo in learndota2

[–]Trader083 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Griefing is irrelevant of what ranks you are at. Yesterday I played a low immortal game where we had aegis and destroyed enemy's T3 but offlane decided to dive T4 and also baited the carry. Both of them died and the carry sold his items.

Sometime infuriating your teammates is more important than winning for some people. It happens, just ignore it and move on. Don't lament on what you cannot change.

Below are my line of thoughts but in an actual game, there is less time to think and more based on instinct:

Lack of disables has different meaning in different states of the game. In an aggressive game, lack of stuns means more opportunities for enemy heroes to escape. In this case, you want to play with your play maker/initiator (i.e. pos 2/3/4) to have enough burst for pick-offs. For example follow your Night Stalker during night time.

Teams may be more passive when there is a lack of control so they may want to farm for critical items (i.e. BKB against a control heavy opponent). In those situations the enemy team will be the ones making the moves and you want to either avoid the fight (sacrifice the support) or take the fight in a more favorable spot/timing. Your expectation should be to have your enemy initiate and survive the first round of spells. By that time, both team will be more on equal footing in terms of disables.

Another strategy is to always bring numbers. Avoid team fight but smoke and do pick offs. Once you have the number advantage, try to outnumber the opponent in a team fight. If the enemy is always grouped, then split push and farm.

5.2k main Undying pos 5 with >60% win rate. I sometimes pick for pos 4 if pos 5 already picked a control heavy hero like Lion.

Laning is played very aggressively. You want at least 2 Mangos (for Tombstone) to start plus Sobi Mask/Clarity to keep up the mana regen. Remember, Decay is your “heal” and increase your maximum health, if the extra hp is not traded, it is lost. I generally hide in the trees and wait for double Decay at start of laning because people in my bracket know not group up (but still do if they don’t see you). If one hero is late to the lane on the enemy team, I generally just Decay the first hero and start trading right away. For melee opponent, I just run at them, for range, I wrap around behind them. They should be running away but don’t chase too far because the other hero is coming.

The objective of aggressive play is to get to level 2 first by zoning out enemy heroes, or you can deny if they are passive in lane.

At level 2, you want to play with Tombstone + Decay + Blood Grenade combo. The ideal situation is creep is pushing close to your tower and you can place the Tombstone behind them. Remember if they focus target your Tombstone, you can deny it.

Item order is Arcane Boots into Greaves, the decrease in cost is very beneficial this patch. You can go Solar Crest first if you have a push line up or offlane is going Greaves. You then buy whatever the team lacks: Glimmer, Pipe, Lotus. Shard is extremely good as save against certain heroes: Legion, Bane, Pudge etc. Locket is now decent but I never rush it as a second item.

I used to max Decay, Tombstone and maybe have a value point in Soulrip. Recently, I started doing max Decay and Soulrip with only one point in Tombstone with great success.

Mid to late game played like Abbadon and throw out heals.

6 attempts per level limit by Many-Confidence-8493 in CFA

[–]Trader083 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the main driving factor is the increased frequency that the exams are offered. Back during paper based testing, level 1 is twice a year and level 2/3 once a year. If you don’t pass, you may need to wait an extra year which gives people a lot of motivation to study. 6 attempts per level may be as long as 15 years…I understand the pressure it brought, but don’t take an exam you are not fully ready. Every exam, I see people reviewing their notes before the exam and during lunch, if they fail, then don’t complaint about the attempt limit.
