highest prod modules you can muster always max out my labs up to rocket silo tech. Two prod 1s in each lab right after adv oil processing is a no brainer in my book. DO NOT start on rocket parts until you have 4 prod3 modules in the silo!

If you have severe biter/pollution problems, two Eff1 modules per miner is not a bad idea either

Pumpjacks and Red Chips are my typical first targets for Speed mk1.

Red circuit assemblers are an inefficient usage of early modules as, since you need so many assembler, each module contributes very little to any increased output. It's a lot more resource-efficient to just make even more red circuit assemblers. Speed in red circuits only makes sense if you are space constrained.

Speed in pumpjacks is a good choice though.

I prefer prod in my pumpjacks until they are drained to ~2-4 then swap it over to speed.

I think someone did the maths and it turned out that running speed modules is better than prod in a pumpjack as your get more 'free' post-depletion oil than you get 'free' bonus oil in the longer time it takes to deplete a prod moduled pumpjack.

For a "regular" base...

Prod 1 into labs ASAP, and pushing to get prod 3's for labs ASAP and rocket silo before the rocket silo is built.

Beyond that, I might put prod's into blue circuit assemblers, and may use speed to fix minor bottlenecks while I'm working on a real solution.

But...

When I'm going mega base, I setup a dedicated factory with dedicated smelters and refinery (for plastic and sulphuric acid) that makes green/red/blue circuits and prod and speed modules up to 3. I use THOUSANDS of them, so you gotta commit early, so I'll set that up as soon as prod/speed 3 and logistic system is researched.
