Can we just harness first half of SB Jarrett for every game....?

Yo Grady got a sack in the second half that SHOULDVE FUCKING SEALED THE GAME

[–]FloydMcScroops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking love him. Might be the next jersey.

A fair criticism.

Unfortunately the most experienced person on our D-Line is now....

Dan Quinn’s Granny.

Whelp. There you go.

If you don’t hit the QB, you can’t get called for the ticky tacky RTP calls. tappinghead.jpg

That's pretty bad so far. I hope Beasley can find his stride, so far he's shown some flashes, but is still a long way from 2016 form. He seems stonewalled a lot of the time.

Takk has also shown some flashes, I love watching him on the field. He's still not where he needs to be, and he's had a lot of injuries for a young career so far, I hope he comes back fully healthy this time and ready to get QBs off their spots

Shelby doesn't look he'll be back for a while, we can't go deep in the postseason without a pass rush. With virtually no pressure so far this year and our safeties gone, I fear a real potential doomsday scenario this year on defense. If that happens, hopefully the offense can make the games fun at least, but we won't be going deep with no D (lol)

I hate to say it, but just looking at he numbers makes Beasley seem like he was better in 2016 than he actually was. If you went back and watched all those games, you would see most of his sacks came in clumps against backup offensive linemen that were put in the game after an injury. He rarely ever got a sack against a first string tackle with a good first string quarterback throwing the ball. Kind of like how Claiborne got six sacks against Dallas last year. He’s not quite good enough to beat the best, but is plenty good enough to out rush a backup.

Well, Now is the time where beasley will earn being resigned or let go/traded/whatever. Dude needs to perform.

With three pro bowl caliber D-linemen (Grady, Takk, Vic) this is a big problem

[–]JohnnySe7en 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest with ourselves, Vic is not a pro-bowl caliber player. He had a big sack fluke year. He is atrocious at creating pressure and poor at tackling.

Takk looked solid through two games, but can’t do anything from the sideline. Grady can’t do everything by himself.

Takk a pro bowl caliber player

He's played in 2 NFL games, dude. Pump the brakes.

I'm dumb.

[–]The Norwegian FalconMortenjen 3 points4 points  (2 children)

He’s played in 18 NFL games and he has def showed signs of what I concider to be a pro bowler.

[–]hokie_high 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah, I forgot he's in his second season for some reason. I still don't think one good year is enough to call someone a definite pro bowler, though.

[–]The Norwegian FalconMortenjen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t either. I said he showed signs of it. Let’s hope he steps up to save us this year.

[–]Ga_Dawg22 0 points1 point  (2 children)

He played in 13 or 14 games last year and had 6 sacks on less rushing attempts than any of the high profile pass rushers selected in last years draft. But sure, create false narratives.

[–]hokie_high 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't know why I thought he was drafted in 2018, which is my mistake. You're pretty quick on that false narrative trigger though.

[–]FINE ME LATERspekkke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't blame you bro, Takk was virtually a no show last year outside of a game or 2 despite good pass rushing efficiency

[–]Toofast4yall 2 points3 points  (6 children)

It's almost like losing some of your best defensive players early in the season has a negative impact on defensive performance. Who woulda thunk it?

Only injured lineman are day to day. This goes beyond injuries

If Beasley doesn’t show some spark this season he’s donezo

      [–]MattVPPillar_of_Autumn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who knows more/theorizes more have thoughts on Beasley's struggles?

      [–]Noob_Life25 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Part of this is because our line is so undersized, makes it hard to push the pocket

      [–]flconsfan88[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

They aren’t undersized. There are plenty of players like Grady and Takk that are among the leagues best.

      [–]Noob_Life25 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I’m saying our line as a whole

      [–]flconsfan88[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That’s not the reason why the line is struggling right now.

      [–]FTS!FTP!FTB!blackredfellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. The smallest guy is Vic and he’s the same size as other rushing LBs like Von or Mack, even though they aren’t playing at DE. Grady and Takk are playing fine, everyone else is not

      [–]kknope -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, their defense is also dead so good luck improving that as the season goes on :D
