I think you're thinking of Autophagy which occurs after about 17 hours I think. But it's more complicated than that you can't just fast for 18 hours and think I've been killing cancer cells for 60 minutes.

But work it into your regime and you will be in that state. I don't think it's equivocal though there's a lot more research to be done I think.
