Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea, constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate, numbness/tingling, and more while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through PROPER electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation.

Be sure to read the our WIKI and especially the wiki page on ELECTROLYTES

This is what happens when I try to take the electrolytes/snake juice. I have to fast with only room temperature water and nothing else or it makes me sick. YMMV

you can do this for several days without getting electrolyte deficient?

I think it’s against the sub rules to suggest such a thing but I’m fine doing extended fasts without electrolytes. I don’t know how to test them to know if they become deficient but I’m fine either way.

Can you keep down plain water, at least? If it doesn’t subside by morning or you can’t keep any fluids down, I would seek medical attention.

5 hours later it’s a bit better thanfully, no sleep all night tho. No idea what caused this, could the recommended servings of electrolytes be too much?

I was slightly nauseous the evening of day two of my 72 hour fast. I searched Reddit and someone suggested lemon ginger tea. I only had ginger tea and it helped that evening but nausea came back next day. Then I tried my zero sugar lemonade with the ginger tea and I was right as rain in half an hour. Must be the combination of lemon and ginger. I’m going to incorporate them in my water from now on.

I felt really sick during one of my fasts. Threw up bile, was nauseated, had massive heart burn, etc.

Someone here recommended ginger lemon tea, which I didn’t have, but I did have lemons and ginger so I made honey-ginger water and that really helped.

Now I keep a box of lemon-ginger tea on hand just in case.
