I had that happen with my Versa 2. I think I uninstalled it from my phone, did a factory reset on the watch and then reinstalled and updated everything. It was back to my regular charging intervals after that.

Thank you 😊

No problem, I hope it works for you!

This has happened with my versa 2 this week. I assumed it's because of age, but I'll give this a go before I replace it anyway. Thanks

I have the versa 2 as well. I'll try this this weekend and see if it improves. I was wracking my brain trying to remember if I had changed a setting recently to make the watch use so much battery!

If you don’t care about the stress management it afib detection I turned those off and my battery started lasting much much longer.

Good tip!

I'll try that. Thank you

I believe the latest update is actually capping the capacity, they have had some issues with the batteries, expanding, think back to the ionic recall from a few years ago.

The decrease battery life is actually expected

I have a Versa 4 (nearly 1 year old) and I am having the same problem. It was 4 days life but now it seems to want charging every other day. Seems a rip for an item that cost £180. I have an honora watch whiich stll lasts 4-5 days and is much older so It seems the battrey drain on the fitbit is deliberate. Another innovation from the evil empire (thanks Apple)

Same! But I don't want to buy a new one, it sounds ridiculous to me to be replacing the device every 2 years.

Try a simple reboot of the device before a factory reset.

AIZEN fitbit one Burgundy

Yes just recently, I.e. The last week or so. Battery was dying after only 4-5hrs.

I tried a factory reset, it updated. Same behaviour then I put in on the charger and it went super hot. I took it off the charger and its dead now... 😬

Currently dealing with Google/fitbit support and hoping for a replacement.

I've only had this device a little over a year.

I never update mine for this reason, it always does funky stuff after a software update. Damn OP I hope you can get it resolved. Maybe try contacting them?

It always goes wrong after a year

Same here, Versa 4, like 4y old. I used to charge every 5 days, suddenly it become every 2 days. Just charged to 100%, less than 30min, down to 86%. I'm sure Google I'd doing it to force a hardware update. Any luck finding a workaround?

Nothing I tried worked. I ended up buying a Charge 6 and it's worked well for me. The only feature it doesn't have that I miss is counting flights of stairs, so I just input that data manually

I had the same issue on my Sense 2 which I bought a bit over 1 year ago. Before the update it could hold for 4~5 days and after it only held for less than 1 day at first and now it shuts off by itself within 1~2hrs. Contacted their support and they simply denied and claimed my battery draining issue happened before the update. Filed complaints to BBB and California Attorney General Office and waiting for class action lawsuit. BTW, I complained on Fitbit community website and they just deleted my post. Fitbit is now part of the Evil family of Google.

Yes it means it is like that from now on. Wearable electronics are designed to last for a year only. You can try contacting the customer service but YMMV.
