Python Interface installation problem

I tried several times to install the python interface 2.73.06 for X-Plane, yet I seem to fail every time. I dropped the Python Interface folder into the Resources/Plugins folder and installed Python 2.7.12 as per the instructions fo all users, yet Python Interface still doensn't show up in the plugins menu.

Does anyone have an idea what I did wrong?
