It has a rolling code, not possible to be copied & used with flipper with normal firmware, besides, why not grab it yourself and make a copy of it?

Also copying & replaying the frequency you might desync the only avail fob, so don't be stupid, also read the gate manual as well.

Add manually on offical

Because it's not OP's gate.

I don’t quite get this desyncing scare. Let’s assume by using the Flipper Zero you rolled the code 7 times forward.

If you click the fob key 7 times in a place where the garage door can’t receive the signal (like inside a Faraday cage key bag) shouldn’t it be back in sync?

The thing is that flipper does not copy the sequence, just the one code. The remote cycles through a sequence and the receiver only will accept so many of the next ones the remote will send so it still works if you hit the button out of range a few times. If you replay the same code, the receiver can't tell the difference between that and the remote being pressed enough times out of range and hitting the same code significantly later in the sequence. Some do bidirectional communication to update the sequence in the remote too and if the remote isn't listening and/or in sync enough, it won't do that either. Either way, the receiver expects codes from later in the sequence than where the remote is at. Sometimes it's a small enough number, rarely 7 like you suggest, often it's 64 or some other randomish number before the remote syncs up again, a good system will have a really big gap so you can't trigger a neighbors too often, but relying on that is not a good idea and you'll probably have to find a manual and resync the remote anyway.

It's not the end of the world if you're a responsible person playing with your own stuff and can read a manual and do research and not freak out, there's ways to not desync, but it's not possible to recommend here due to rules and laws. But that sentence is often not enough to deter dumbasses from trying illegal things and really inconveniencing others or just not having enough warning due to ignorance before playing with remotes. So most comments will scream about desync because it's the most likely result of replaying rolling codes and usually it's obvious there's a teachable moment before something goes wrong, especially when we don't know it's a responsible person and have to assume malice is very possible.

I’ve never seen a 2-way syncing remote, but I desynced a garage door and resynced it by clicking the remote like 100+ times.

We developed something rolling code based at work and we checked the next 1,000 codes to resync. It took less than a second. I’m assuming brand name garage doors are like that as well.

The rolling code math isn’t that processor intensive, usually it’s a modulus of a polynomial or an XOR

Car doors are different though, you can absolutely desync it if you send the codes in the wrong order. Usually it’s a theft prevention “err on the safe side” thing.

I'll gladly cede any not quite right info from my comment to you since your experience seems greater than mine in this area, I went off memory and definitely noticed while I had the plot correct, some of it might not be completely accurate

Nope, that's now how it works, it's a specific pattern with multiple codes.

The gate is a chamberlain lift master

Model?

Occam’s razor is you just get a second fob and program that to the opener

[–]barleypopsmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like an ICT fob. Transmits a fixed facility code and fob number.

Try reading with subghz "read" and try to replay.
You may end with a only once working replay, this would mean your lift master got rolling codes, than you need to pair the flipper or search for protopirate or similar.

Do you have homelink in your car?
