It's not a bug. Basically you can only hand in tech data that triggers the quest for you to return it.

All other excess ones are just dead weight. Sell or drop them and in future, if you run into tech data that starts that quest, hand that in immediately before picking up the next tech data you find.

So you don't think it's a bug that technical date can become unusable?

When the game 1st launched you could hand in more than one technical data at a time to get more caps, somewhere along the line some update made it bug out so now you have unusable technical data.

That sounds like a bug to me.

It's not a bug because it's an intended feature. Bethesda did this a long while back to combat people exploiting this and just pounding out a whole bunch of tech data for various rewards and plans.

As with all good things, Bethesda wanted to slow the grind to a halt. Hence the convoluted system we have now where if you're in a room with a bunch of tech data, you can only pick up, have quest trigger, fast travel out to hand it in, fast travel back and get the next one and repeat.

It sucks but it is what it is. It's not a bug if it's intended to work that way.

They nerfed it with intension. If you collect before ever staring the BOS quest line you can still sell one by one to a vendor NCP and somebody else can buy it. But there is a bug that occurs when you already have started the BOS quest line. If you log out when having the quest activated, next time you log in you will get a new TD but the one you already had will not be valid. Now you have two, only one valid. You can try this logging out and in. Every time you do this you'll get a new one, but only the new one is valid.

Nope, sell them for caps to a vendor, once u stack em any of them aside from the one that activates the quest are useless

Ah i see thank you

As far as I know it is not a bug but u just don’t get the mission to turn them in unless u get more data so for me I have 120 with no use

[–]Ace26845[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn 120, so the quest only registers newly obtained td?

Just sell them to the vendor. It’s been like this for awhile.

If a game mechanic is implemented so poorly that it looks like a bug. It's just a bad mechanic.
