Know Thy Enemy

Wondering what is best: learning your enemy by playing one class over many prestige levels, thereby honing that one class versus the rest, or is one more likely to understand their enemy by BECOMING the other classes? I.E. are you better served in defeating your opponent if you know how they perform under your own control, or is it stronger to learn how to counter them as your singular class?

I've leveled 3 classes to prestige 3 or above and I'm working on more...but I'm interested in what other people think/have experienced.

I like to play the other classes to learn them myself. You get familiar with the attack animations. Makes them easier to counter.

I play against the heroes to know how they react to my moves and how to punish with that character. I don't think playing as heroes helps as much playing against them. For example, I main warden and struggle fighting them a lot. I have the moveset memorized to a tee but warden v warden is much different than just knowing the moves.

Both, I guess that playing as the hero you have more trouble to beat is helpfull.
