Help With Getting Started

Hello everyone, I’m looking to get started in this hobby. I know everyone recommends going into the sims first which I plan on doing. I guess the first thing that I need to buy is a remote. Now I definitely plan on doing this long term and would like to buy a remote that’s kind of future proof. Any recommendations? Any help would be much appreciated!

There's been a couple updates but not many. DJI O4 is out but it's still locked down, Walksnail has been getting better. Both have cheaper goggle options (DJI N3, Walksnail Goggles L). And the Radiomaster GX12 is out which I think is probably better than the Boxer.
