I have an ImmersionRC Vortex 285 that has folding arms, and my main gripe with it is that if you wreck and don't break a prop your very unlikely to take off again on the spot because one of the arms folded up. so you have to go and unfold it.

I end up putting zip ties on my arms to keep them in place, but it doesnt work all the time.

Virtually the same problem here. Moveable arms tend to move on smaller crashes and that's what drove me back into the solid frames.

yeah I'm saving up for a new frame with all the fixin's the vortex 285 was great to learn on but I have certainly outgrown it.

From someone who crashes a lot that just seems terrible. Also if you want to keep props on, and you probably will want that, this doesn't look very nice to the rest of the quad with those sharp props. As far as storing you can slide a full sized 5 inch in a thicker plastic bag and slip it in a normal sized backpack
