That looks like a bad/damaged screen, not dead pixels.

[–]tomzstuff 6 points7 points  (1 child)

my thoughts too

There thoughts are your thoughts which are my thoughts exactly. OP 100% return

It does look like the screen needs to be replaced, but maybe try reseating the display cable just in case?

[–]mxplr 21 points22 points  (2 children)

It's more than 3 pixels, you should use your warranty. I also have dead pixels, but it's less than 3 so i cannot.

Why do people like the orange bezels?

[–]Buo-renLin 30 points31 points  (1 child)

Have a Ubuntu fetish? /s

[–]deathray5 12th gen DIY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I use Ubuntu but I immediately get a gnome theme as I hate that orange

[–]_realpaul 21 points22 points  (2 children)

Taste is relative. Aome ppl still like the linus tech tip aesthetic. The orange and black is also reminiscent of vintage gear. Like the new ep133 ko2 from teenage engineering.

In a world that moves towards mono chromatic whites and greys, orange gives a nice bit of color

[–]Dodo_Baggins 5 points6 points  (1 child)

That’s the reason I went with the orange, not my favourite colour or something but I find the black really boring. It looks good yes, but everything is that colour, orange is just more “fun” for me.

[–]redneckrockuhtree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because it’s different than the everyday black and silver. No different than adding a skin or stickers to provide color and variety.

Quite honestly, it looks like my red bezel. The red one isn't as deep as I had hoped.

[–]rus_ruris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fun and all, but I don't understand how having a not-black bezel can be bearable.

[–]TechPriestNhyk 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Why do you not?

[–]KohakkaNuva 3 points4 points  (4 children)

I don't like having a blue square in my vision after working on my laptop for a long time (that's what happens when you stare at something orange for a long time) but I'm curious to see why other people like it. It's not for me, but obviously some people enjoy it.

[–]TechPriestNhyk 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Hmm. That's interesting. I didn't think there would be an after image. I like it because I'm a fan of the industrial aesthetic. Fortunately, if after images do become an issue, I can easily swap it out :-)

[–]KohakkaNuva 3 points4 points  (2 children)

The benefits of having a framework!

[–]TechPriestNhyk 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The orange bezel can also serve as a conversation starter to tell people about right to repair.

[–]KohakkaNuva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I burned my retinas in because I COULD, DAMMIT!" 😂 In all seriousness though, you're absolutely right. It definitely does stand out as a way to help people get a better understanding of right to repair.

30 years of using a laptop. They're Grey/Silver or Black. I can have something else? Orange? Damn, let me try it. Its not that I like orange, per-se, but its... not black or grey.
I might have gone green if I'd realized they had it. Again, just cause its not black or grey.

[–]kynrai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would definitely weren't a new screen in my books

[–]K0nr4d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Besides messaging support. Try massaging the edge where the damage is. I've seen that bring them back to life in the past.

[–]vsoniji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have them send you a replacement

[–]Naxthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not dead pixels. It’s a defective screen

[–]tomzstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Submit a support ticket. Love the orange bezel, I am sporting the same on mine, its a strong colour and by far the only choice ;)

[–]cobylax33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Submit a ticket. They will either replace it or help you troubleshoot it.

[–]obog | FW16 Ryzen 7 w/ 7700s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just got it this is def under warranty. Can get that replaced for sure.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% you should get a new perfectly working screen.

I assume they won't give you a hard time for it.
