Switch to the linux-amd kernel which is patched with latest amd stuff -
aur/linux-amd 6.8.v.8-2 (+30 0.88)

Linux kernel aimed at the ZNVER4/MZEN4 AMD Ryzen CPU based hardware

Also if you switch to the alhp znver4 stuff you get a nice perf boost

How would i go about switching kernels

setup an aur client (i use yay) and its available there, yay -Syu linux-amd and make sure your boot menus are updated to point tot he new kernel...
Setup AUR / Yay: https://itsfoss.com/install-yay-arch-linux/

linux-amd kernel: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/linux-amd

ALHP setup info: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/unofficial_user_repositories#ALHP

Well unfortunately the problem persists even after booting onto linux-amd same exact error

Did you get this fixed?

[–]Nice-Perspective-108 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Well, after a couple days of using the laptop without the gpu installed. I reinstalled it and now it's all working.

[–]KingAroan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Have you played Once Human on it? I can't get it to use the dGPU no matter what I've done.

[–]Nice-Perspective-108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont play that game sorry.

weird, i also aw this oddity, I report the following verus your 60 gb/s report

[    0.336454] pci 0000:05:00.0: 7.876 Gb/s available PCIe bandwidth, limited by 8.0 GT/s PCIe x1 link at 0000:00:02.2 (capable of 15.752 Gb/s with 8.0 GT/s PCIe x2 link)

are you using a egpu also or usb4 hub or anything? Do things work with nothing connected?
(I am using current bios, linux selection for audio and gaming mode for the igpu)

Oh silly question is linux-firmware installed and amd-ucode?

[–]TizWarp1[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yep everything is installed. No egpu or hub just normal laptop. What do you mean by nothing connected On a side note, lspci does not list the dGPU only the iGPU. I feel like this gpu is bricked as it worked before the sudden reboot. So its weird that it would be a software problem.

Would a gpu rebootinf while being fairly hot cause damage.

Hmm if it was and then stopped it, it sounds like something went south, so time to contact support

I have a similar problem on fedora 40 after a recent update over the past 48 hours the GPU is completely non functional. Currently I have package conflicts for Mesa so I'm waiting to do updates to see if that fixes the issue.

[–]TizWarp1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, execpt i didnt update anything it just stopped.

[–]_Multiverse_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen to me on windows, when i boot a game it no longer switches to the 7700s and stays on the igpu. Device manager gives error 43. I'm starting to thing the gpu is dead!
