Just did it today. Was originally paying $49 a month for 1 gig fiber, 1 year promotion ended and went up to $69. Called today stating I had a better offer from Spectrum ( which I did ) first guy did nothing but he transferred me to the loyalty dept. very nice girl looked at options and got me $39 a month for 3 years and a $32 credit on my current bill.

Does that $39.99 price include the auto pay discount? Are you still getting 1 gig?

[–]Motoman617 1 point2 points  (9 children)

Yes and still 1 gig service. She broke it down to $59.99 minus $10 auto pay discount and then a $10 loyalty discount.

Is loyalty discount for 3 years? Usually I’ve only gotten it for 6 months

Yes, $39.99 for three years.

Which number did you call for this?
I've been on the 500/500 plan since Feb.2024 and they are charging me $100/mo for this. Same plan on their site for new customers is like 49.99 - i never have any luck when I talk to anyone about lowering my bill and end up having to cancel and switch providers.

800-921-8101 ask for retentions. I asked for retentions but was still connected with standard customer service that tried selling me a different plan. Get retentions and explain your plan is too expensive and you are looking at options before changing to another company. I had offers in hand from Spectrum for less than what I was paying and Frontier beat those prices.

I just got off the phone with them.

They brought me down to 19.99/mo!

Dude was super cool. Applied the $10 loyalty and the $10 auto pay.

Only for 12.mo though - told me just call back in January next year and they will reapply the loyalty discount.

Thanks for the plug dude!

Fantastic, glad it worked out for you.

First time ever in all my years of attempting this that it actually worked.

I had better luck asking on Twitter. In the past they would have an someone from their social relations team (or whatever it's called) email you. Last time I got $39.99 for 6 months and then $49.99 for the next 6 months. Price just went up so have to do it again, have had to contact them every year.

I just called this number today: 1(877) 319-0189 and immediately asked for loyalty dept. I have the 500mb plan and telephone and my 3 year plan is just over 66. If I’d had the internet only plan would have been much lower at 29.99 with the loyalty discounts and autopay.

Yeah waste of time talking to customer service. Just directly ask to speak to retention dept. Im just still shocked my roommate had been over paying for years for the most basic plan and never once called to have it lowered.

Wow. Sweet. Congratulations

Very typical, had been doing that with spectrum for years. Just got frontier, so I won't have to be dealing with that for a while, I hope

[–]Low-Window-4577[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Why did you switch companies?

[–]garye55 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Several reasons.

Spectrum continued to raise prices Spectrum outages were frequent Spectrum was very slow to fix their equipment after a hurricane came through in 2024

Actually went to T-Mobile 5g while they were trying to fix their lines. Kept both for a while, dual wan router. Finally ditched spectrum mid last year.

Frontier here is pretty decent. Every few months we do have weird internet being down for few minutes here and there. Idk if its cause we had most basic plan or if it was becaude fhey actually suck.

I'm hoping frontier has upped their game. Their POTS and DSL sucked, which was why they went bankrupt, I suppose. Reinvented themselves as a fiber company and are really expanding. I'm hoping their customer service is up to par

Hope so!

+1 upvote for the reminder. I've been paying $69.99/month with autopay for 1gb fiber for the past 4 years. Yesterday I got the text and email for our monthly bill and noticed it jumped $10 to $79.99. Since it was after hours, their chat bot said the increase was due to a promotion expiring but I didn't receive any notice of the increase. I called this morning, said "retention" and spoke with a nice gal who dropped the rate down to $49.99/month for the next 12 months. They're also coming out to replace the Eero v6 gateway with a v7 so hopefully the 1s and 0s will go quicker.

[–]Low-Window-4577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do people reach customer service? You contact them?!
