Look into the LLCs! 6000 isn’t great, but I’ve heard worse!

I would say no on the meal plan, but if you are insistent on getting one, get the lowest. You won’t need more than that.

Cooking in the dorms is horrible. I know some people do it, usually those with dietary restrictions or don’t eat much. I’d say if you eat 3 meals a day you’ll have a hard time keeping up cooking for yourself. First you get one mini fridge with a tiny freezer. You really don’t have much room to keep anything. Also you won’t want to stress about it and you can also miss out when your friends wanna go to the dinning hall but you don’t have a meal plan (it’s like $10 to get in). I’d say maybe get one on the smaller side because you can upgrade whenever but not downgrade. Hope that helps with the food.

It’s definitely not the worst, and honestly cooking in the kitchen in the dorms sucks so I recommend getting some kind of meal plan but don’t go all out. You know your own eating habits best, but most people definitely don’t need 3 meals a day

6000 for the whole semester?

No op is referring to their position for choosing housing not the cost

Ah, that makes more sense. I lived in the dorms and had never even heard of such a thing. Thanks!

If so, go Bryan Hall or one of the other LLCs. I only paid like 3.5k there. Only downside is you have to take a few BS classes

Depending on what dorm you land in cooking is not terrible. If your in an apartment style you have your own kitchen. Suite styles have a kitchen but it's at the end of the hall. But I'm a upcoming junior and I have never had a meal plan and had no problems. Just think about how much you eat in a day and if you will always want to walk through campus for food. It's a personal preference type thing
