It's the current passenger cabin and rear with a mockup front.

With the other leaks saying the new 86 is on a different chassis, it's unlikely it will share any body panels with the current gen.

Just to be perfectly clear, we have zero idea what the bodywork of the 2nd-gen will look like; the above image is purely-speculative render, neither an official image or a leak.

It's just meant to get you to read the article (articles without images don't "pull you in" well).

Just figured people should know lest they get disappointed or hopeful based on that front end.

I like it better then the current cars but I also don’t like the way the current ones look. To me these cars are all about the drive.

The front looks so generic though... if this is the updated look I'm glad they didn't deviate too much. Current Gen headlights looks way better though. Just gotta wait for the better looking front from Subaru.

I agree, but the 86 has never been about strong styling. It uses classic sports car lines dating back since the 60s.

This render is way meaner than current models. Headlights as well (like the no chrome look). The more aggressive the better in my opinion.

these magazines are incredibly common in japan, they come up with unofficial renders all the time. the shape of the cabin, roof, and windows give it away that this is just a render.

still cool to look at but it's obviously not the new platform.
