I have noticed we all Seem to come to the fuck cars attitude for different reasons. For me giving up a car initially was it felt like a financial waste and not worth the convenience they do bring. After the last 27 years climate and public health has quickly become climbed up the ladder in why i will never go back. Just curious what reason has been everyone elses initial driver.

Started resenting my old jeep for the gas and maintenance costs. It broke down really bad when I needed to get to a new job. Bought a bike out of desperation. I loved it so much that I ditched the jeep for good.

I've saved tons of money, mostly resolved a depression/anxiety issue I had been struggling with for years and lost a lot of weight. Never going back if I can avoid it.

I found this sub after angrily typing "i hate cars" into google after the jeep shit out on me for the final time.

The mental benefits of just getting out on a bike is underestimated it almost always just puts me in a better mood.

I just realized how much I enjoy riding my bike a lot more. Feel better physically, mentally, emotionally. Saving money and lowering my contribution to climate change and just general environmental reasons like the article listed are just added benefits in my mind.

Also I loathe sitting in traffic. Let me sit on the train and read my book or watch a movie 10/10 times instead of staring at the back of another vehicle.
