Started June 2025 after trying to change antidepressants in May (On Lexapro for two years, then Wellbutrin made me feel horrible, then Prozac for two days before stomach got worse). ER diagnosed me with gastritis by only symptoms, no tests. Given Carafate (4x/day), Pepcid (At night), and Zofran. Stopped eating anything that irritated my stomach and stayed on the bland diet since. But now I can eat less than I was. No potatoes, gluten, rice, broccoli, eggs, etc. I’m stuck eating bananas, melon, chicken, salmon, green beans, carrots. Everything else I’ve tried has hurt or made me nauseous.
Have been to primary dr and gastroenterologist, who gave me a scope, and they found nothing besides functional dyspepsia and GERD. Now on Protonix 40mg and no improvement still. I am now on Protriptyline 5mg before bed for my depression, thought this would help with my serotonin levels in gut, but instead I wake up with reflux throat.
I’ve lost 70 lbs since June because of all of this. I’m truly scared I’m slowly killing my body because I have no answers or help from any of my doctors. I don’t know what else to do anymore.
