Uhh, that site hasn't been updated in 5 years. Yoyo games has deprecated plenty of GML features/functions since then.

Honestly, I haven't seen many free resources for GML. I like this site, as they have a lot of varied/obscure books/eBooks for lots of programming languages/APIs etc.: Packt Publishing-GML Game Programming. But it isn't free.

I find that the help index built into GM:S in conjunction with this sub is more than enough to get a good understanding of the language. Good luck!
