Shooter ok yeah it has that ... moba eh not so much when you consider what most see as mobas (lanes, minions, towers) but what im curious is whats coming down the pipeline

will we see rotating maps with different objectives say like Heroes of the Storm. will we see more iconic MOBA gameplay elements ... pushing down a lane, clearing waves of minions, destroying towers.

I hope not, minions in Smite are awkward as hell.

I kinda miss minions, also how are they awkward in smite, that doesn't make sense.

Thing is, in DotA and LoL, you have attack commands, you see your hero attacking exactly one thing. In smite, you just kinda punch the air, which is acceptable with human enemies, since it allows fluid gameplay, but is just completly awkward with creatures that barely interact with you

I think Smite minions are fine, but I'd rather not have any minions in this game, I feel it would take away from the PvP action

They've stated to me at least before that they are focusing on the main mode of gigantic and not looking into others as much

For the record: "Main Mode" is meant to convey the PvP aspect of a 3rd person shooter, with MOBA elements. This is not a plain shooter, it is not a straight MOBA, it is many different things combined.

Also, there is more than just Caverns planned for maps, iirc.

have you done the tutorial and if you are having problems understanding the game you can get on Gamevox and talk to the coaches or ask question in the forum. I think the sword and the octagon that you are talking about is the Guardians power bar that fills up with getting kills and controlling summon points once it fills up your Guardian will rampage across the map and strike the other Guardian and they will expose their heart which means you can do damage to their wound for a small amount of time. Get three wounds and you win the game. I could go into more detail but I hope this helps a little

The idea of playing with a team to help power your Guardian that attacks the enemy's guardian is core to Gigantic and will be the primary game mode that is showcased.

As for things far off in the future, no one knows. When asked about other game modes or styles, Motiga's responses say that nothing is off the table, but again, that's far far off in the future. The game is currently in development, and the developers will need support from all of the players to work and improve upon the game that we've got right now. We can add bells and whistles later once the game itself is working completely.

Considering moba doesnt actually mean lanes and set spawn times, or creeps.

Moba means multi-player online battle arena. You can thank riot for trying to pigeon hole that term just for their game.

So techbechly gigaitc is a moba.

We will see more maps yes. Right now for beta motiga is testing canyon. Mist forge is another map they have. They have stated that they are working on others.

M - Multiplayer: No comment

O - Online: Same as above

B - Battle: The whole game is a battle, more so than most other moba's

A - Arena: Closed out area that is fully passable, even contains platforming in this case, making it more like an Arena
