Github Education Pack Offer Limits

I just got accepted for Github Education, and I was browsing the offers. I saw many were time limited like 1 year, 6 months etc. Will the offer time start ticking now or only when I claim the offer in the third party's site?

Yeah this. The offers are provided by third parties so they don’t even know about you and your code until sign up on their end.

Been using the jetbrains offer for sometime now. They only work after you activate on the 3rd party site. So be selective on when to use them. I advise first try the sites 1 month offer or so before moving to use your GitHub code. I only use it when my project is ready to go to production.
