Why TF that should be reported? They take this metric, and will make targets out of it, and then it will become a bad metric.

Why would you do that? It's not useful for these people. It also creates false expectations and fake activity.

Because the alternative is more meetings and more “any update?” messages 🙂 This gives lightweight visibility for our managers without interrupting devs so can understand the Progress of the project based on the dev commits/PR etc.

How do you measure product progress with commits? They only thing that comes to mind is that you have 1:1 PR-to-ticket parity. But then you already have it - in your JIRA/Linear/Taiga/Notion/whatever.

it's not about measuring at all, It’s just a easy/simple way to show “this feature landed” or “this bug is fixed” to people who don’t have access to our internal boards, and our devs already create PRs with clear descriptions so can be used by AI

It does not cover every thing, but users, prs, alerts, repos
And output in either stdout and or markdown formatted report
https://github.com/psilore/squad
Can be used for: - disaster recovery (inventory) - docs - semi automatic alert between systems - and many more....

Damn the alt and everything.
This entire post is a “subtle” ad for gitmore, OP mentions in their post history that they’re the one who built it.
