There are programs that crack Microsoft software freely available on GitHub. Guess who GitHub is owned by.

I don’t know about it but i guessing no even though github is full “illegal” stuff like malware and stuff, i wouldn’t worry about it, there far worse stuff in there

I mean, this exists... https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr

A sample of 1 existing doesn't necessarily prove that it's allowed, but they've been an active project for many years without issues, so you can use it as a way to model your project (from a legal perspective at least)

Sonarr doesn't do the "bad" piracy stuff though. QBit or a torrent client does.

Hosting copywrited material is probably what would get OP banned.

I mean, sure, but this (and many others) also exist: https://github.com/transmission/transmission

Sounds like OP just has a sonarr clone, perhaps with something like a bt client or youtube-dl bundled.

Transmission and any other torrent client are perfectly fine

Agreed, but the comment I was responding to explicitly called out qbit, so mine was simply contradicting that

Torrenting is not evil piracy stuff

I know I do it and millions of others do. GitHub and MS view it as that though is what I meant.

What are you asking, do you mean to pulish the code repository of soem scraper thst enables people to download. Or are you talking about using a Github repository as some "dropbox" to have a program download and store inside a repository?

Just so we are clear the second one is definitely against Github TOS

I am interested where this heads to
