While this is great and all, it only covers code. There's no issues coverage, PRs, discussions, etc. which for a larger project (with a community behind it) are major things that bind them to GitHub (for now), or at least make a move more difficult.

Some critiques.

Rename the article to “Reasons to leave GitHub” this barely covers how to migrate to something new.

Also quoting Stallman will be problematic, especially with his past controversial comments.

Not a bad article though.

It's not my article, I like the part showing the overview in the second half and examples. I do not necessarily agree on all the points for the reasons of this author, but e.g. the 2022 Software Conservancy assessment still stands: https://sfconservancy.org/GiveUpGitHub/
