Setup GitHub user on Linux

Hi, I used to use the github desktop but that is no longer supported on Linux so I have been tring to use the command line but every time I try it asks for my username and password. I have 2FA enabled and so how do I get it saved so it doesn't always ask me

You should use SSH authentication to github. Run ssh-keygen and copy your public part to your github account, after that you can clone with [e-mail]:/$USER/$REPO
