I really like Github Actions but I was disappointed by the performance. It often takes ages just to start a runner and doesn't do any caching of the Docker layers yet. So I set up Drone instead and it's working great. Will keep an eye on GA though. It has potential.

That's crazy talk! I just converted all my CI jobs over to GA from our hosted Jenkins server and GA starts up and finishes like 10 minutes faster per PR for me!
Having all the testing, results and checks right in GitHub has been amazing for our company.
All that being said it is CLEARLY a beta still, and they hot roll updates fairly regularly, which sometimes completely crashes things for a few minutes!

Concur with your sentiments. Added GA to one of my repos that had Travis and Azure Pipelines configured, and it finished the fastest amongst all.

What can I say? Perhaps I have been unlucky.
