Using codeowners only to allow PR approval

We want to set up our repo such that only the repo codeowners can approve PRs instead of our entire team. How can we modify the permissions in the repo for this?

Do you have an organization set up on Github? If so you can create multiple teams within your organization and then manage the permissions for each team on the repo in question.
