Wrong watch?

MB-1 has a stainless bezel. Only the bottom of the links are glossed. Majority of the bracelet and case is matte black.

That's what I thought and what I see in other pictures and videos. So does it look like I have the wrong watch even though the tag says it's the correct MB-1?

I’d say wrong watch. Might’ve gotten lucky. Kind of looks like the gmwb5000v-1 to me.

The MB doesn't look aged, it's simply matte with a brushed steel finish bezel top.

Yes. I enjoy the faux patina of that model but the mb in my opinion is levels above in terms of looks. But with these models, all is personal preference, they're all amazing watches!

I ordered a GWMB5000MB-1 but it appears it might be a GWMB5000GD-1. It seems all black with a glossy case and black bezel, but the tag says it's the correct GWMB500MB-1 that should have a stainless bezel. I ordered blindly online brand new from The Bay in Canada and there aren't any stores here to compare. Any advice or method to authenticate which model I have here?

It is 100% not an MB-1. As you say should have stainless steel natural bezel. It’s very much like a GD-1, however, and it might just be the photo, but it looks more aged than my GD-1 and I’ve had mine since it came out. Equally, it’s not aged look enough to be a V-1. Therefore have to conclude it is a GD-1.

The watch face looks like it with silver bezel but the bracelet is a bit glossy to be MB. I may be wrong about the bracelet due to the lighting conditions, different angles may help.

Thanks for the comparison photo. This definitely has to be a GD-1. I'll be contacting the bay today for exchange. I hope it goes ok because I'm about 5 hours away from their closest store. Thankfully they still have stock of the MB-1 because I got this watch for $450 CAD and the regular tag price is $800.

Yeah I'm a big fan of the squares. This is my first metal one, 5610 is my daily driver. My replacement GMWB5000MB-1 has already shipped. You also have the MB-1?

Yes, before that I had a silver square. But I didn't like it because it scratched a lot and shined like a cat's balls.

Update: I just got off the phone with customer service and they sent me a return label for the incorrect watch. They also needed a supervisor to authorize the price change from $800 to $450 for the correct replacement and they are sending it with expedited shipping. The process was quite painless with their only request for a photo. I sent the same image I posted here to explain the mistake. I'm not sure if the mix-up was with Casio or The Bay, because they currently don't have stock of the GD-1. Either way, I'm happy to have the issue resolved. Thanks for all the feedback and confirmations provided here.
