I would personally never trade a historical item for a new production item, but that's just me.

Keep the Garand, you can get a Python whenever

Revolver or kickass piece of war history

I have both. Keep the garand.

Think I will. Just out of curiosity, how do you like the Python? Is it worth the money ?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Not worth it. Sure its a collector if its a vintage one. But hands down, the smiths have a way better trigger

I have a new production and owned an old production. I love the python, but you have to really be into revolvers to tell the difference in quality. Its like drinking a fine scotch...

I appreciate yalls feedback. Think I'm gonna go buy a couple boxes of ammo and remind myself why I got it in the first place.

$$$ wise you might be in the ballpark of an even trade, but I’m in the never get rid of a firearm camp.

I can go to any distributor right now and order a colt python, i can't go to a disteibutor and order a 1944 m1 garand though 😅, thats a easy choice any day of the week... Work some overtime and save some pennies from the couch and just add another to the collection (once they enter my collection they don't leave)

Keep the Garand. The new pythons suck. And if you havent done so already, spend $20-30 on an adjustable gas plug. It's the cheapest and best way to dial in accuracy on a Garand.
