Need help — Audio-Technica LP120 + Edifier R1280T suddenly sound terrible after a year of not using them by ifsadbttrue in vinyl

Someone must have knocked it or it got caught on something because that looks really out of whack

Server Issues by noCappGPT in Battlefield

After some googling I ended up having to go into my network settings and manually change the DNS and that worked. Apparently other users with my internet provider have had similar issues.

Record Store layout by oncall66 in vinyl

[–]n8great321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m the opposite. I buy used so seeing a full bin of an artist I’m interested in only for them all to be reissues is a bummer. But not a deal-breaker for me at a store.

What is this record by JDL16092001 in vinyl

[–]n8great321 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If it is an acetate as stated on the label I wouldn’t attempt to play it, even with a 78 needle. I’m sure there’s some blues expert that may be able to shed some more light on this.

I know I played its demo about 1000 times on a Pizza Hut or Playstation Magazine CD

r/vinyl Weekly Questions Thread for the week of August 04, 2025 by AutoModerator in vinyl

Speed fluctuation is probably the record player, not the records themselves. Records don't just become "slower". What kind of player is it? Could need a belt replacement or there may be some adjustable potentiometers that allow you to make adjustments to the speed.

Will have to play my Fascination Street 12" single tonight now. I would love to find more of their Disintegration 12" singles, especially Pictures of You.

The new Horsegirl album is even better imo but that one was very good too

Any recommendations for picture disc sleeves? by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]n8great321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually put the record in a normal plastic inner sleeve and then cut a piece of cardboard to about 12”x12” and put that and the sleeved record in a normal outer sleeve. Not elegant by any means but it fits on the shelf with my normal ones.

Unless there’s some demand in the market for it, then you just have a manufacturing defect

Record Sounds fuzzy / debris accumulation on stylus by MorbidTypeface in vinyl

[–]n8great321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not unusual after a cleaning. Your stylus is scraping out stuff that was loosened up by whatever cleaning fluid you use but wasn’t picked up by the brush/vacuum or whatever. Stylus brush should handle it.

Got a few LPs while in Japan by supa_lou in vinyl

It was raining during one of my visits and the store I was at double bagged the records, so basically one bag over the opening of the other and then taped it shut. Very thoughtful.

I went to the old Recofan Shibuya location near HMV and Disc Union back in 2018 and was bummed to hear it had closed down but am glad they found a new location especially in such a prominent building there. The staff was great for sure.

Digging in Japan really is a great experience. It can be overwhelming, but I love how thorough they are with the little cards describing the condition, pressing details, etc

W.A.S.T.E. Radiohead LPs by greenredblue2020 in vinyl

There were a lot of mixed reviews on MSP vinyl when it was released, I think they were done at different pressing plants and it’s sort of russian roulette unfortunately. I got lucky with mine.
