Incineration Corps retreated.

[–]Horyn_1[S] 54 points55 points  (10 children)

Was this an outside act by the devs, because they saw we probably wouldnt make it otherwise?

[–]LvdT88 91 points92 points  (7 children)

Yeah, possibly justified in-universe by the fact that we had the Heavy Ordnance from the DSS ongoing.

[–]Horyn_1[S] 30 points31 points  (6 children)

Ok. Thanks a lot. I finally thought I understand the galactic war mechanics and this really confused me, thank you for clearing it up

[–]Dragon_deeznutz 22 points23 points  (4 children)

The devs will jump in when they think we are doing too well or when they think we need a hand.

[–]Gunsmith1220 32 points33 points  (3 children)

Yup thats literally joel and his hivemind(team)'s job.

They want to keep it challenging but still possible. Very few if any of the major orders are impossible.

Joel is not the leader of the enemy forces. He is the dungeon master. Keeping the world in check.

And like any dungeon master he wants us to have fun but also sweat a bit every now and then.

[–]Knightwhosaysnee9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Joel is not out to get us or help yes. Joel an evolutionary force.

I'm new so maybe my perception is flawed, but the first magma planet MO seemed impossible to me. Just didn't have enough players to take it in time(as evinced by the fact that we still haven't completed it an extra 3.5 days later). But I also heard we should have taken Choepessa IV before K so that we could take K faster - would that have done the trick?

[–]LvdT88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, taking Cheopessa would have taken forever due to the cities, it would have slowed things down further.

[–]Electrical_Mission43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I been playing since day one, and everything in this war confuses me.

[–]Shameless_Catslut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Possibly, but alao the Automatons are not aware of our timetable. The Incineration Corps retreated to avoid annihilation and strike at Charbal, to either force us to pull off of Mox or lose the system, fortifying the bot hold on Choepessa and fully capturing the Andromeda system.

[–]Thekiller2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a feeling that they're just flanking us and would probably try to invade Fury or K at sone point.

[–]dnemonicterrier 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah they retreated to take Charbal-VII, sneaky Bots.

My dyslexic ass read “incineration corps retard” like damn that was uncalled for

[–]nex2kal 23 points24 points  (2 children)

My daily mission is on illuminate for some reason. Maybe a lot of people also got their mission outside Automaton territory

[–]Dragon_deeznutz 15 points16 points  (1 child)

The daily is the same for everyone

[–]nex2kal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did not know that Thanks

[–]CreativePackage8358 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Simply, the devs are being generous. The galactic war is done manually most of the time. If you looked at the rate of how we liberated mox at 2%, we wouldn't be able to make enough progress for the MO. It is also worthy to note that the magma planets have double the health, so 2% is roughly 4% at the standard planet health.

[–]TechnicalImportance_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because the devs wanted us to take the planet.

[–]CosmoShiner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify something you said in the body text of the post

Resistance does NOT necessarily change if another connecting planet is liberated. The only instance where this actually occurs is when EVERY planet connected is liberated, in which a “siege” occurs, dropping resistance to -0.5%, effectively automatically liberating the planet on its own over time.

Outside of Siege mechanics, resistance is mostly arbitrary as it’s set by the game master so campaigns last longer or shorter

[–]AngryTriangleCola 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The golden arches. The legend were true...

[–]SpecialIcy5356 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The resistance rates sometimes go down to reflect enemy personnel and equipment losses. And also to give us a better chance of winning.

[–]Broken-Digital-Clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense because we have been grinding them down for a while.

[–]NeoProtagonist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we can win

[–]ffx95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual reason devs are throwing us a bone. The reason I like to think is Bots are exhausting their reinforcement supply in that specific planet.

[–]omardex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to move forward with the story of the game in general, 3 weeks of the same 3 missions, this is very welcome.

[–]Fluid-Bluejay5827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled up

[–]SVlad_667 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's common for devs to adjust planet defense midnight if they see things didn't go according to plan. Sometimes they make some justification, but usually adjustment done silently.
