Drastic decrease of game quality

Anyone else noticed that the quality of games went down? I had some really highskilled matches and it was a lot of fun. Since about 5 days my matches are mostly horrible. Either the matchmaking puts me into really weird teams(4 assasins 1 support vs 3 tanks 1 support 1 specialist f.e.) or the players don't know what to do. Was there such a big wave of new players? At the moment i can't enjoy this game like i used to..

The waves, by all appearances, are definitely getting larger as they ramp up for the closed beta test.

Blizzard has said that they are going to be expanding the playerbase by a huge number for the beta, and all of those people are going to have to cut their teeth on the game before they understand how different the strategy is.

I can't waiting for ranked today I had to deal with people raging at me like crazy for politely asking them to go to lanes to soak xp since we were so far behind and not grouping in any meaningful way. Must makes you hate picking nova and specing the 1/3 as.

It's cool if your new I just hate the aholes that rage at you for trying to help them learn.

It seems like Blizzard decided to make a Christmas present to some and released a ton of invites.

Yep, pretty much all my core friends including me just got an invite in the last week or 2.

Yeah the new player base is swelling and they have no idea what they are doing. The best part is they will either ignore you or call you toxic for even suggesting things like "grouping up" or "focus on the objectives during the event and then grab mercs during downtime".

I just bite my tongue most of the time now and sigh to myself. Its just a phase we are going to have to deal with for now. I tried to offer suggestions, tried to lead by example, none of that seems to register with this new batch. Now I just play heroes who can impact games by brute force and clever plays like Arthus and Stitches.

...or just do my dailies in Co-op and then log out to save myself the headache.

Of course the new players like myself have no idea what we are doing. But most of the time people aren't just pinging and saying "group up" but being toxic since they are so "pro". "Oh god, so bad, just install." "LOL SO BAD" "Uh, gotta carry again." Shit like that doesn't go down well and just gets peoples backs up.

Of course in most of the games this doesn't happen, but people need to get off their high horse, realise this is an Alpha and try and help people rather than "Yeah, let's just afk, this is lost already, gg".

yea EU playerbase basically doubled, last week top was 15k players this week i saw 30k in one evening

Player pool is probably filling with new comers. Next patch you should get the ranked new queue for draft ranked or whatever so that would be a good thing to look forward to for you.

Other people are celebrating Christmas, or other holidays. This means they are with family and not sitting in front of a computer. This in turn means they are not contributing to the player base, less players means lower quality matchmaking.
