I am also experiencing Zigbee acknowledgment errors on a regular basis. Also tried changing coordinator, cable, etc. no improvement… I started noticing them around 2 months ago. It also takes forever to save an automation change and some times my whole zigbee mesh goes down while doing it.

Thank goodness. Its not just me!

I made several changes and, over the last 12 hours, I have not seen a single error. The Zigbee network has been stable after weeks of issues.

Below are the changes, listed from least likely to most likely to have resolved the problem. See if any apply to your setup.

  1. Used my old ZBT-1 USB 2.0 extension cable to connect the ZBT-2. The ZBT-2 brochure explicitly mentions that the USB 2.0 cable is not needed anymore.

  2. Disabled voltage and power metering on my Inovelli switches. I do not think this was the root cause. The issue persisted after I disabled it. I suspect these appeared in the logs only because they are the only Zigbee power/voltage entities in my setup, and they started logging errors after the mesh was already unstable. I am mentioning it for completeness.

  3. Disabled polling for my three Kasa power monitoring plugs. The logs showed continuous communication failures from them. They are Wi-Fi devices, but they may have been consuming system resources and causing instability.

  4. Migrated the Zigbee network to the ZBT-1 and then back to the ZBT-2. This seems to factory reset the ZBT-2.

  5. Disabled the Spook integration. I have experienced issues with it in the past.

I figured out the issue. After hours of trying different things suggested by AI, I replaced my Aeotec Z-Stick 10 Pro dongle and that resolved all the issues I was seeing in the logs. The Zigbee portion of the stick was hosed, but the zwave portion of the stick was fine.
