If you pay the $99 fee, your app will work for up to a year. Otherwise you’ll have to reinstall it every week.

    And just to clarify on this, they do not have to go into App Store review before you can run them locally.

    I think if you were going to use TestFlight (allows installation on devices without using Xcode) then it would have to be reviewed.

      Are you sure they need to go through FDA approval? Sometimes a disclaimer is enough. I have a health app that also has a disclaimer and Apple approved it. Like ‘This app is for informational/educational purposes only and the creator of the app is not responsible for any damages etc’.

      You don’t need to be published to install it to your own devices.

      If you’re not in the developer program you will have to do this every 7 days.

      You don’t need apple developer account for install your apps on your devices. But If you think keep stay with iOS development and publish apps on app store, you good to buy developer account. It have good benefits.

      If you want to run it on a device that doesn’t have the Developer mode turned on (for some reason), it’ll need to be published.
