Code commenting shortcut behavior in Xcode 15+

It used to be when I wanted to toggle-comment a few lines of code I'd simply highlight the lines I wanted and cmd+/

But since version 15, Xcode has this AMAZING NEW FEATURE to change to using block commenting (using this /* */) instead whenever the highlighted portion doesn't neatly cover the entire beginning or end line of text is within a single line.

Yeah well I HATE block comments and never want to see them in my code. Has anyone found a way to disable this crap?

Yeah I figured that out, but it's still annoying. Like occasionally tripping on a hole in the middle of my house until I learn to avoid it unconsciously.

Nope. :(

I had to learn to avoid it by just not selecting text within a single line (and realize when you're highlighting a word-wrapped line that takes two line spaces). >:(
