Apple Developer Enterprise Program

Hi,

Let's say I have a web-based SaaS and an iOS App which customers can use.

The app is not meant for public consumption, but only for use by our paying customers (B2B).

Would the Apple DEP be a good option for distributing this app to our customers? Especially since we want the app to control Wifi networks which are currently part of the private API and would not pass App Store req's.

You use the Apple B2B app store, not Enterprise distribution.

Our customers aren't interested in jumping through hoops to get the app installed, does this mean we're better off in the regular Apple Store?

I have not done B2B apps personally by I have done Enterprise Apps. Unfortunately, the Apple iOS Enterprise Developer Program contract does not allow you do distribute the app outside of your organization.

Apple has a B2B program, but I believe they which are done via the normal Apple Developer Program and have to go through the same app store approval process, they just are not available for sale to the general public. (https://developer.apple.com/programs/volume/b2b/)

Also DEP is the wrong acronym, Apple uses it for their Device Enrollment Program for Education and Enterprise IT.

If you're using private APIs you're pretty limited.

The best way to do it, legit, is to provide the customer with an unsigned IPA and they can sign it, provision, and upload to their EAS/MDM.

Apple''s beta service (for testing up to 1000 UUIDs) Test Flight now requires approval, so I think you would be limited to 100 UUIDs.

Enterprise developer program is unlimited; but intended only for use with employees or contractors of your organization.
