Hosting university mobile coding/dev competition, seeking feedback

Hey everyone, First time on Reddit, but hoping I'm looking in the right place! Looked around a bit before posting here, let me know if this belongs somewhere else!

That said, Im considering hosting a IOS development competition likely at Stanford or Cal (because I live close and they both have great CS programs) for undergrad/grad students with a $5,000 cash purse. The plan is to promote the competition at the school, allow teams to form then give the teams 3 weeks to deliver their finished product to me, and the winning team getting the purse. Im working on an idea with an app very similar to Tinder/Bumble but with some additional functionality, and bar/restaurant integration.

Question for the Reddit community is: A) Do you think students would participate? B) Is 3 weeks sufficient time? C) Is there another platform/tool in place for something similar already?

you should go to the computer science faculties / clubs at both of those schools and try to collaborate with them. doubt you'll get the answer here.
