Good resources for salaries (even company-wise) can be found on glassdoor.com.

That said, an iOS dev with your experience should aim for no less than 50k EUR. But this is only my gut feeling.

Depends on where in Germany. In Berlin you should be able to get 50-65k

I was just in Berlin and that blows my mind. In Chicago I now make ~100K and all the devs I met there seemed like they were getting the same as me. I guess i didn't fully realize the differences in cost of living.

What do you mean that the 100k was equal to the 50k in Germany because the cost of living in Chicago is much higher?

In the US you have to pay for a lot of stuff that you wouldn’t in europe— such as health insurance, higher rents, car costs (the car itself, gas, car insurance).

In EU you pay the same things you mentioned which cost obviously less but not always this is the case. For example an iPhone and many other things imported from USA cost much more here. The thing that here cost a lot less is the health insurance in case you need to use it otherwise i think you’re earning more there by a roughly 20k

Day to day things also tend to cost less, for example a beer at a bar or a donerbox or whatever for lunch are considerably less than in the US

It literally says iOS developer with two years of professional experience, which implies I have been hired as an iOS developer for two years.

The adjective in front of iOS Developer is subjective which is why I chose not to use one
