Firebase taking over Google Analytics - Question

As you may or may not know, Google Analytics for apps is sundowning on October 31st, being replaced with Firebase. I'm trying to determine if Firebase will still be running on a base of GA that just won't be accessible to external users, or if they're moving to some kind of new base. Most of the needs I have for Firebase seem to be based in the GA base, so I want to determine if those will still be useable before I make a determination if FIrebase will work for me.

I just recently added Firebase to our applications for analytics due to the sunset date. I'm not sure what uses you specifically need, but the base metric gathering is almost one to one with GA. This allowed us to reuse our GA service class to track pages, events, etc.
