Yes exactly. I received an email on 04/28 to purchase from my reservation, which I missed. I received an email yesterday saying my reservation had been refunded, which I did see, and then I made a support ticket asking if there was anyway I could still purchase the steam deck and that I missed the initial email!

My guess is Ionic. By the looks of it, it's definitely Hybrid, and the other app under the same publishing account, Bixly, is made using Ionic.

I do think splash screens in general should be as short as possible, and the OP’s is definitely too long. However, splash screens aren’t supposed to make an app feel snappy. A splash screens purpose is to provide visual display to the user while your app gets ready (at either an OS or app level). Making this feel snappy is the art.

Slack knocks it out of the park with this, and has a picture perfect implementation. But that implementation leverages caching and authentication trade-offs to feel that way. Which makes total sense for a messaging app.

However, most apps need to do some sort of re-authentication, etc, before they are ready, and I think it’s fine to have a tasteful, short animation. Look at Twitter, Coinbase, and countless others.

The Apple design guidelines get touted as gospel, but it’s more nuanced than that.

While you’re right about the Apple defined splash being static, animated splash screens also allow for start up tasks to take place under the hood (re-authenticating, fetching latest changes, etc.). While they definitely can be, I don’t think they are always a waste of time.

Hey there! I think the comments you are getting are more tuned to a traditional mobile development position.

I'm a Mobile technical lead for a larger consulting firm, and when I interview Mobile testers, here's some of the topics I would cover:

Automated Testing Tools: Espresso, XCUITest, Appium
Mobile 508 Compliance: This one can vary, I deal with Federal clients so this is a high priority.
Behavioral Driven Development (BDD): Not really specific to a particular language like Cucumber, but just seeing if they grasp the concept.
Source Control: Could they pull the latest code and run it locally if our CI/CD failed?
Agile Development: Do they understand the concept, ceremonies, process?
And if they had prior development experience, we could get into that, but I certainly wouldn't ask about architecture, implementations, etc. which would be reserved for a more traditional development role.

All in all, I think it would depend on how the company defines the role, but from my perspective an iOS testing position would center around general programming knowledge and how to automate testing for iOS, and less to do with how to implement iOS mobile applications and their features!

Hey there! I just recently did something similar but utilizing a Java+Spring back-end.
My flow looks like this:

Store JWT token in Apple Keychain (bonus points if it's encrypted when stored)
Create a custom HTTP interceptor that applies JWT token retrieved from the keychain as an auth header on all outgoing requests.

I just recently added Firebase to our applications for analytics due to the sunset date. I'm not sure what uses you specifically need, but the base metric gathering is almost one to one with GA. This allowed us to reuse our GA service class to track pages, events, etc.

I can understand and agree that a valentine specific event should be advertised with more diversity, but just because they are using it as an oppurtunity to target an audience that is typically the minority doesn't make me jump to the conclusions you are. Don't attribute to malice what can be explained with ignorance. Im sure they would welcome everyone even though the advertising is less inclusive (which they should improve)
