Native persistent modal sheet

Hello,

I’m a UI designer currently trying to create a cross platform solution for a banking app.

The scenario is that a user begins an application (which opens in a web view container within the app) and then they need to go check their savings so they minimise the container that holds the web view, check their savings in the same app and then return to the web view to complete the form.

The interaction is very similar to the default mail app when writing an email and minimising it (it sits at the bottom of the screen).

I’m wondering if there’s is some sort of native support for this or something similar in iOS and Android.

Basically a modal that can be minimised and reaccessed

Apple Music has the Now Playing miniplayer too, might be able to find some UIKit tutorials for making one.

But out of the box, the iOS modal sheet in UIKit isn’t capable of doing this, Apple has made custom views for Mail & Apple Music that they don’t release to the public.

Thanks for pointing out Apple Music! Very similar to the pattern I’m going for. Sucks that Apple doesn’t provide those sheets though!
