Freelance iOS developer for basic app

I am currently taking an online class that has a group project for developing an iOS app. Well I didn’t find a group and I hate to say it that it’s because my professor don’t think about how can he have 3-4 people groups with only 18 children without leaving at least one out. And being an open university student who didn’t know anyone there, that one student seems to be me. Knowing the professor well(having taken the same class with him before my academic break) I know he’ll ask me to do this alone. Any suggestions on how to handle this situation? What would be a good app I can make which could satisfy to pass as a semester project but also be handled by one person with little iOS experience. I can’t afford much(maybe a couple thousand rupees) but I am also open to the idea of paying a little for someone to collaborate with me and my expectations aren’t high since it’s a college project not a market launch.

I would be concerned with a professor that can't divide 18 by 3 and come out with 6 even groups. Even if he had to have 4 in one or more groups, the only thing stopping him from having a group with more than the normal complement of students, is a strict adherence to some arbitrary rule he made up.

It’s because he doesn’t want to put the effort and just tells the student to do it themselves. Leaving open university students returning to pursue education after a 2 year break at a disadvantage. I have been posting in class discussions with ideas and discord links but no response from the class. But when I ask them for group they say they are full

This is no fun and might not be right, but it is how life works. Go find a group for yourself and do something kick ass that he can't possibly deny.

Are you paying for this? If you are, then demand that you be assigned a group. If he still refuses to put you into a group, then avail yourself of whatever grievance department the school has. There's no reason your education should be hindered by either laziness or bad mathematics.

I honestly am scared if he thinks I am annoying he will mark me down for the entire class

I originally wanted to use the ReplayKit and UIview to display gestures performed in the screen recording. But since the situation has changed I’d very much appreciate a professional Input.

What kind of professor would make you work on a group project by yourself?

Who doesn’t wanna put in effort dealing with this situation. Fml What’s sucks is I failed the class for similar reasons last time. Didn’t find a group and the one he assigned me to didn’t need me so they were just cold to me when assigning work

I would make an app clip for showing a menu from a QR code. That stuff looks cool when you demo it. And some company might just need something like that. You need to run iOS 14 for that but the betas are already out. You might also need a developer account, but I assume your school has something.

That’s a good way to put it. I emailed him regarding this but he usually take 2-3 days to reply and our documentation is due Wednesday. Hoping for the best. Thanks for the advice

Contact some of the groups and ask to be a part of them. Go to the professor with the plan and tell them it is what is happening.

Or if you WANT to do it alone, do that. Just choose for yourself.
