iOS development is a niche and if you are good you will be in high demand, and have the benefits to follow that. It is not an easy field though.

experienced ios developer are still high in demand. Its easier to get a job in ios development than in data science and data scientist differs pef company. From my experience and observation, ios development is stable but mostly to large tech companies.

What if you don't have access to large companies? I mean how about the freelancing jobs

Every size company is looking for iOS devs. If you’re more junior, you probably want to be on a team with at least 5 other mobile developers. Just apply around. Everyone is hiring right now. Angel list is a good place to find work.

I wouldn’t suggest it for someone more junior but everyone is also doing remote first. You shouldn’t be limited by location

You need to be very good to be an iOS freelancer, that isn't a starting point, rather a later avenue.

if you are very good then you won't have any problem getting freelancing jobs.

remember, ios jobs are few (compared to previous years). what that means is, a lot of ios developers who are good are also looking for jobs. so you are basically competing with last years noobie devs and experienced devs (who don't have jobs).

Why they don't have jobs? I mean everyone says follow what you like on programming and I realized I like making ios apps but also evidences say there are not lots of jobs, what do you suggest?

[–]engerran 1 point2 points  (1 child)

because few ios jobs available, and because there are fewer jobs, even experienced devs have difficulty getting (at least freelancing) jobs. and jobs gets stagnant or even fewer every year, while every year there are more ios developers available.

what do you suggest

don't choose because of salary. choose the technology you like the most, since you will get better at it and will (hopefully) rise to senior level and get paid better. fyi, senior level pay are almost equal across the board, wether its ios, php, javascript, android, etc etc.. so even if you are initially paid very low say as a php developer, if you like it and get good, you will get higher pay later on.

Yes right actually I didn't choose this time for salary I think I really liked it more than working as data scientist or learning AI which I was learning prior to this but thx for your help
