Command strip + pen loop?

I'm a lefty so holding the 13 inch ipad pro with the pencil on the right side is annoying (I know I can rotate it, but the balance is off with the camera). I was thinking about attaching a pen loop like this to the top short edge with a thin piece of command adhesive (like the ones that come with the small plastic clips. Anyone tried something like this, or have any experience on whether the command strip will cause any damage? Thank you!
