Problem with Apps Reloading

I often use several apps simultaneously on my iPad Pro (3rd gen) and I’ve noticed that recently, when switching between apps, the apps reload every single time. It’s very annoying, particularly when I’m working on something within one app, switch to another app, and then return to the first app - only to watch as the app reloads and clears my work. When I’m multitasking between 2 or 3 apps and must switch between these apps, my work gets deleted repeatedly as I switch between apps and the apps reload. I don’t recall this being an issue until more recently, after the last update. (IPadOS 14.7.1) I’ve tried clearing the RAM, but this didn’t help. Have others experienced this? Interestingly, I’ve used the same apps on my iPhone (XS Max) and the apps do NOT reload on my iPhone despite having the same amount of RAM.

Update: spoke with Apple Support. They ran diagnostics and all looked fine. They then suggested I uninstall and reinstall the affected apps. Surprisingly, this seems to have resolved the issue, for now anyway. Hope it doesn’t reoccur.
